U needs few skills to work with a Call Center. One of them is Accent.
Accent: -
The word “Accent" refers to one way of pronouncing the words of any language. Different people of deference place speak deferent accent, & this is the main problem for a call centre. Mainly three types of accent are used in call center.
1, US Accent
2, UK Accent
3, Neutral Accent
US Accent: -it’s the way American normally speaks
UK accent: - it’s the way British speak
Neutral Accent: -suggest by the Dictionary its conventional English.
Cal Center normally prefers people with neutral accent. Most common Accent problem is MTI (Mother tongue influence).
MTI (Mother Tongue Influence):-
We use our mother tongue in most of the time in our day-by-day conversation. As result of this when we speak other language likes English our Mother tongue automatically creep in it. This is called MTI.
Example: - “what is u r good name?”
Word "good" is a MTI problem.
Suggested Way to Improve: -
Read English news paper, magazines or listen English news bulletined, song or watch English TV program like discovery channel, BBC news, CNN etc.
